Following extensive dyno, drag strip and circuit testing, 1320 MINI is delighted to offer a set of Cat Cams fast road ‘Sport’ cams for the R56 MINI Cooper S for £732.00

Suitable for both the 175 bhp and 181 bhp versions of the R56 MINI Cooper S using the 1.6-litre direct injection, valvetronic turbocharged engine, the new Cat Cams profiles are the perfect bolt-on upgrade on a motor that can require a cam chain and tensioner replacement beyond 70,000 miles. 

Back to back dyno runs show that as a straight swap against the standard BMW profiles, the Cat Cams gained nearly 10 bhp at the wheels on a high mileage 2007 R56 Cooper S, with useful power increases from 3750 rpm right through to the rev limiter.

Impressively, dyno testing at 1320 MINI also shows that the Cat Cams gain up 12 lb.ft at the wheels from 4000 rpm upwards, with a much stronger mid-range and top end performance.
