Old Red Winter Project Begins
Now the racing has quietened down and the season is over we have got chance to begin Old Reds winder project. A massive overhaul of the wiring loom is being done, removing all unnecessary wires and a few engine bay modifications ;)

The dash has been removed to help get to all the wiring, then every bit of insulating tape, cloth tape has been removed from the wiring loom to begin stripping it down.

Scott made some little brackets for the radiator so it is tilted forward slightly which gives us some more clearance behind.

Then Thomas welded up some lovley alloy pipes for the coolant system. We are trying out a One/Cooper thermostat housing, no header tank and no in car heater so we've had to modify the coolant system slightly. This pipe comes round round the oil heat exchanger and feeds into the rad.

Old Red's latest dyno run
Old Red's latest dyno number, the difference from the previous dyno is JCW head with stock valves, 8.0-1 Wossner pistons, 1320 conrods, Mahle race bearings
Hopefully will find some more HP before the RWYB season starts in January at Santa Pod

Just in Time
The log book arrived on the Thursday we MOT it on the Friday and was racing our new deno MINI on the Saturday in totally stock form including runflats, I was quite pleased with the 1.35 but disappointed that I couldn't go faster when it mattered............I proberly did but I took out some cones on the pit straight so my time was disqualified.

Welcome to our new R53 JCW
As you can see someone wasn't happy with the previous owner ...............This JCW serial number is S7 and has covered 80,000 miles with 4 previous owners, if only it knew what sort of life it will lead now :)
