Blog posts of '2012' 'April'

Odwyer Racing @ Owen Developments
We managed to get over today to see Mark at Owens and make some runs on their rolling road with Richard O'Dwyer's turbo MINI. We wanted to do this whilst it has a stock cylinder head and stock camshaft. Mark believes we can still find some more power with this combo which shows what a great start this conversion can be HP to £ spent with a stock engine.

We're glad to announce that we will be partenering with the team at Owens to build the best turbos & kits for the R53 & R56 1.6 MINIs.

To say we're excited about working with the team at Owen Developments is a huge understatement, so here are today's results.

Testing at Cadwell with O'Dwyer Racing
After an all day session by Scott Jack & Thomas it was a 3am load up and off to Cadwell for some testing before the 1st Time Attack www.timeattack.co.uk round off 2012, we weren't the only Time Attack cars getting some track time in.

Needless to say the weather report was rain and more rain......when we got there at 7.30am there was no rain but there was a lot of damp patches about on track.

9am and we were in the first sigting laps.......and just like those days at Santa Pod as the seat belts were tightened the rain spots started on the windscreen...by the end of our 3 sighting laps it was raining hard as you can tell from the last pics, hope you enjoy the pics.

On the way home, 6 hours sleep and then off to Santa Pod for a gruelling weekend working on Ellis Motorsport twin turbo Pro Mod car...............can life get any better
Our other courtesy car gets Bilsteins
Our other dark silver courtesy car got some love last Friday with some new Bilstein B14 PSS coilovers, R56 front calipers Pagid discs and Performance Friction pads all around and Motul 660 brake fluid, contacting the floor was some Neuton 205 45 17 tyres, So whats the best thing to test all these new componets out ?

Answer; A How Fast session at Bedford Autodrome EVO magazine circuit, we did the 1 hour practice session on the Neutons and netted a 1.32.857 a 2.491 sec improvement, we decided to switch the front wheel & tyres to some 16 x7 Rota slipstreams and 195 50 16 Toyo 888's for the 2 flying laps, this netted us our fastest time of the day with a 1.32.263 a 3.085 sec improvement.........we believe that the car and old man Webster have some more left in there.

So now when you visit can try KW V1's or Bilsteins B14 PSS if both courtesy cars are on site.
