1320 is located on the Bedfordshire / Northamptonshire / Cambridgeshire border but customers travel from as far as Scotland to our workshops for their annual BMW MINI service. The 1320 team really value the fact that our customers become so loyal that they never want anyone else to touch their MINI once they've found us, and that is why we will cherish your MINI like you do.
Many 1320 customers like to take the opportunity to 'hang-out' while our technicians work on servicing their MINI; some bring laptops and carry on with their normal day job at a desk in our wi-fi enabled office. Others like to observe the magic taking place in 1320's workshop. Alternatively, those who are fortunate enough to own their MINI as their weekend toy or second car, leave it with 1320 in our secure 5 acre yard where work is carried out over an agreed schedule - if this is the case we usually deliver and collect customers fromthe train station located in nearby St Neots. 1320 also hopes toprovide a MINI loan car service very soon for workshop customers.
1320 carries out BMW MINI servicing and checks to the original manufacturer's requirements and only use MINI OEM parts on your car, unless customers request that we use alternative branded parts. Our knowledge of the BMW MINI means that we carry most parts in stock that are known to be problematic, either as a new or recycled item.
1320's experience of working on and racing MINIs we know what goes wrong with them, as a result all diagnostic work is undertaken relatively quickly as our technicians can speedily pinpoint problems. 1320 also has the advantage of being able to put your MINI One, Cooper, or Cooper S on our in-house Mustang rolling road dyno to ensure it's making the power it should be.
Over the course of your MINIs existence it will regularly require the following services: Oil Change, Inspection 1, or Inspection 2. Your Service interval display is located in the centre of the speedometerand will notify you of which service type you need. Each time the vehicle is started the display will show the mileage until the specified next service is needed.
If the display is flashing and the mileage is displayed as a negativeyou have gone past the time of this service and are overdue. The services come in this order, Oil change, Service 1, Service 2, repeat. Service 1 is also known as a Minor service and service 2 is also known as a Major service. Some of our customers prefer to change the oil midway between each service, so around the 7-8k mile mark.
We would also suggest that the modified and tracked cars undergo more regular checks & fluid renewals than are suggested in the BMW service schedule, but specific guidance will be offered dependent onyour car's usage.

Engine health check
Compression test, leakdown test and 3 power runs with a power and torque .pdf file
The purpose of these checks is to ensure that your engine is running at its optimum and to establish that there are no obvious problems. They are essential checks before undertaking any engine modifications. Sadly, these health checks do not show up all problems but they do go a fair way to checking that everthing is ok.
